Aer Lingus Passengers Increased 7.3 Per Cent in January

Aer Lingus today announced traffic statistics for January 2012, when total flown passenger numbers, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 7.3% on January 2011.

Aer Lingus’s total flown passenger numbers were 563,000, a 5.8% increase. Short-haul passengers were 514,000, 6.2% up, while long-haul passengers were 49,000, an increase of 2.1%.

Aer Lingus Regional’s total flown passenger numbers were 53,000, an increase of 26.2% compared to January 2011.

Aer Lingus’s flown passenger load factor in January 2012 increased by 0.1 points on January 2011 to 62.3%. Short-haul load factor was 62.5%, an increase of 2.0 points, with capacity increasing by 4.6%. Long-haul load factor was 61.8%, a decrease of 3.9 points, with capacity increasing by 8.0%.
