“They sure know how to throw a great party” was a remark overheard in Buck Whaley’s as British Airways hosted the trade to an evening of food, drinks, prizes and music in Dublin’s Leeson Street. The event was to announce the return of the carrier to the Dublin – London Heathrow route after an absence of 21 years.
Today FM’s Ian Dempsey handled the event with his usual cheery demeanour and wit, as 21 lucky attendees, from an attendance of more than 550, won tickets for two on British Airways and Iberia flights to destinations around the world.
Those lucky enough to have their entrance number drawn were invited on stage, where Ian Dempsey offered them increasing amounts of cash or to open a numbered box, which contained a prize of air tickets.
Only two people opted for the cash: Joanna Kavanagh of Club Travel, who went home with €600 in cash, and James Davy from Trailfinders, who settled for €400.
Here are all the winners and details of the tickets they won, which included First Class, Club World, World Traveller Plus, and World Traveller on British Airways, and Business Class and Economy on Iberia.
Kudos to Simon Daly and the British Airways Dublin team for their hard work in making it such a great evening.
