Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel was the chosen venue for the traditional Star Alliance Christmas Lunch, which was attended by top agents. This lunch has become one of the highlights for the season and was enjoyed by all.Shannon Airport were joint sponsors of the lunch.
The airline alliance now has 27 member airlines, many of whom were present at the event. Indeed Ethiopian Airlines, in the person of Michael Yohannes, got a warm welcome from those present. John Cassidy was also there, having just won the Virgin Atlantic golf tournament in Florida.
Ethiopian will be the newest online Star Alliance member when the carrier begins flights from Addis Abba to Dublin and onward to Los Angeles.
Star Alliance is the largest of all the airline groupings and now serves 1,316 airports in 192 countries. The alliance is now operating from T2 at London Heathrow Airport.
