Exceptional Growth on Mobile Devices for Sunway Online

Launched over 15 years ago as one of the first online booking sites in Ireland, Sunway.ie offers online bookings for all of the company’s European package holidays, hotel only, flight only, Worldwide and USA holidays. Sales figures for January-March 2015 saw the average price dropping by 13%, online bookings have increased by 15%, and conversion rate for online bookings has increased by 53% compared to the same period in 2014. Sunway Logo

In July 2014 Sunway launched its Sunway Online mobile optimised website allowing the site to reformat itself when viewed on handheld and tablet devices. With larger navigation buttons, reformatted content and differently optimised images, Sunway’s new website has had a large increase in visitors with the conversion for mobile/tablets increasing by 200% and bookings from mobiles/tablets increasing by 67%.

With more and more consumers turning to their mobile devices for research and purchasing holidays, Sunway believes that having a website developed to allow its customers to easily navigate and engage from the small screens of their handhelds means that they will reach their decision faster. The most popular time for researching holidays on Sunway.ie is between 8pm and 10pm, whereas 7pm to 8pm is when most people book their holidays online.

Tanya Airey, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have achieved this success with the increase in mobile activity and bookings, and we will continue to develop and maintain the high standard of product offerings on our website in order to accommodate our customer’s every need.”
