Air Berlin will become a member of the Oneworld alliance on 20th March, while Niki Airlines, which is part of the Air Berlin Group and which commences services from Shannon to Austria this summer, will join as an affiliate member. Air Berlin, whose entry into Oneworld is being sponsored by British Airways, will move into Berlin’s new Brandenburg Airport in June.
Malaysia Airlines is to join Oneworld later this year. Kingfisher airlines was due to join on Friday 10th February 2012, but this has been put on hold until further notice.
