Air Canada Amends Baggage Fees and Allowances

Air Canada has amended its network baggage fees for tickets issued on/after 7th September 2011 for travel on/after 11th October 2011.

Economy Class: For travel between Canada and the USA (including Hawaii) a first bag fee of $25 CAD/USD applies. For travel between Canada/USA and Africa, the Middle East, Russia/Asia (excluding Japan), Australia, and South America (excluding Brazil and Venezuela), a second bag fee of $70 CAS/USD applies. The existing second bag fee of $20 CAD/USD for Caribbean itineraries is now also applicable to Kingston, Haiti and Puerto Rico.

Allowance Changes: Air Canada Super Elite, Elite and Star Alliance Gold members travelling in Executive Class and Executive First continue to receive an allowance of three checked bags on all flights, regardless of destination. All other passngers (including Star Alliance Silver) travelling in Executive Class and Executive First now receive an allowance of two checked bags on all flights, regardless of destination.
