Amadeus Golf and Spa Day at Slieve Russell

Amadeus Golf and Spa Day at Slieve Russell

The Amadeus team led by Volker Lorenz and ably assisted by Olwen McKinney, Trish O’Leary and Siobhan Boskett put together a fabulous programme for 100 guests from trade and media. The venue this year’s Amadeus Golf and Spa Day was the Slieve Russell Hotel and Country Club in Co Cavan.

Moving the venue to different locations each year is designed to bring guests together from all over Ireland at top class resorts. This is only fair and allows everyone a fair crack of the whip in arranging drive times to the event according to Volker Lorenz, General Manager – Amadeus Ireland.

The golf, of course, was the main attraction – for some! Early starters had the best of the weather and completed their round in the dry. However a monsoon descended on the later starters and these golfers were drenched to the skin – but most finished their rounds. Welcome sustenance was supplied at the 10th tee with hamburgers and drinks in plentiful supply.

The evening event kicked off with very convivial pre-dinner drinks in the hotel, where everyone got the opportunity to give their version of their day on the golf course. This was followed by an excellent dinner with great wines on offer.
