Amadeus Launches World’s First Fully Online GDS Booking Platform

Amadeus has launched Selling Platform Connect, the world’s first fully online GDS booking and fulfilment platform in the UK and Ireland – and is celebrating the launch with a global competition to find the world’s most passionate travel consultant.

The competition will run from 24th February to 31st October 2016. In November, a jury will select three winners out of the top 10 most voted videos. The prize for these three travel consultants will be a professionally produced video promoting their business and the accolade of being the world’s most passionate travel agents. Full contest details can be found at www.amadeus.com/share-your-passion.

Selling Platform Connect has a number of key benefits including allowing real customisation and localisation capabilities to meet each business’s specific needs, both in the front and back office.

It can also be standardised across an organisation’s entire network. It is the only booking platform currently on the market that is fully cloud-based, so that it is accessible anywhere from any device with Internet access, offering unrivalled flexibility and agility, without the hassle of a complicated installation.

Selling Platform Connect also includes an innovative ‘Cryptic Magic’ tool that allows users to switch seamlessly between cryptic and graphic content during any part of the booking process. Commands from other GDSs can also be translated and converted from cryptic to graphic form, enabling travel consultants to use whichever method is quickest for them.

“All of our travel agency customers are unique businesses with unique customers, so we set out to build a booking tool that is flexible and easy to customise to meet each travel agency’s needs,” said Champa Magesh, Amadeus UK & Ireland Managing Director. “The latest version of Selling Platform Connect will increase productivity, lower training costs, and help travel consultants focus on what matters most: their customers and their passion.”
