Rebecca Kelly of MSC Cruises organised a farewell dinner party for her “five-year work husband”, Lorenzo Diamantini, who is moving to Geneva to become the cruise line’s Deputy Executive Director – UK, Ireland & Australia, and such is the affection in which he his held among the trade that 23 of the 25 invitees were able to attend at Bloom Brasserie in Dublin.

Lorenzo told his friends: “Thank you to everyone – here and elsewhere – for all your support over the past five years – we have seen some unbelievable results in Ireland and I have made many friends. I am trying hard not to become emotional! I don’t know what I will do in the future.” (To which Rebecca quickly responded: “I’ll have him back in six months!”)

On behalf of all those attending, Dominic Burke of Travel Centres echoed Rebecca’s words of praise and added: “Lorenzo, we have taken you to our hearts. We are going to hugely miss you.”
