Audrey Headon Wins 2014 ITTN/TIGS Golfer of the Year

The first TIGS outing for 2015 at Portmarnock Links was the venue for the presentation of the 2014 ITTN / TIGS Golfer of the Year.

The best four scores from outings in 2014 saw Audrey Headon (28 points) winning by a narrow margin from Eileen Penrose (26 points), with John Spollen and Helen Kelly close behind in third place (24 points).

Congratulating the President, Audrey Headon, and incoming Captain, Pat Dawson, on TIGS going from strength to strength, Ian Bloomfield said that ITTN is delighted to be associated with TIGS through the Golfer of the Year.

The day started with heavy rain falling on the first three 4 balls, but soon settled to a glorious early spring day for the rest of the golfers.

The winning team of Niall McDonnell, Peter O’Hanlon, Clem Walshe and Volker Lorenz played some spectacular golf with Niall (44 pts) winning the individual prize, closely followed by Clem with an amazing one over par round (40 pts).

Turkish Airlines was the sponsor for the outing and Murat Balandi and Anne-Marie Dalton made sure all golfers enjoyed the 19th hole and an excellent meal.
