BA to Fly Dublin to London City from Next October

British Airways is to start flying to the financial heart of London from Dublin this winter.BA to LCY

The airline announced today that it is to add an additional link between the two capital cities with the launch of new direct flights from Dublin to London City Airport.

From the start of the winter schedule, 26th October, British Airways will launch five-a-day services to London City Airport using a mix of Embraer 170 and 190 jets from its new fleet of 17 aircraft.

The aircraft will be based in Dublin overnight for an early morning departure, allowing customers to do a full day’s business in London or to connect on to British Airways’ 26 domestic, European and international destinations from the Docklands airport.

Willie Walsh, Chief Executive, International Airlines Group, said: “We are delighted to introduce direct flights from Dublin to London City Airport. Our customers wanted direct access to the Docklands and London’s financial centre and the excellent schedule we are offering means they have plenty of choice, whether they are flying for business or pleasure.

“The addition of this new route complements our existing eight times daily Dublin to London Heathrow service and helps further strengthen and develop business and tourism links between Dublin and London.”

Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison said he was delighted to see British Airways further expand its services between Dublin and London. “British Airways resumed operations on the Dublin to London Heathrow route in the summer of 2012 and has gone from strength to strength over the past two years. With the addition of this welcome new service to London City Airport, British Airways will offer passengers a choice of two London airports from Dublin and we are looking forward to working with them to promote the new daily link between the two cities.

Customers have a quick and easy journey through London City Airport, as with hand baggage it takes just 15 minutes to get from kerbside to airside.

All British Airways fares include a generous free hand baggage allowance, free seat selection and on line check-in 24 hours before departure, complimentary refreshments and drinks, and no debit card charges.
