There were 25 categories, covering hotels, attractions, sustainability and customer service, and all the winners were chosen by Virgin Holiday customers. Sun International’s Table Bay Hotel came ahead of Serena Beach Hotel & Spa, Kenya, and Protea Hotel President, Cape Town, to take the Gold Award for Africa.

All the rooms at the Table Bay Hotel have breathtaking views that either look across the Atlantic Ocean to Robben Island, or across the bay to Table Mountain. Cape Town itself has enjoyed something of a renaissance, reinventing itself as a city of culture and creativity, home to artists and designers and in 2014 will be named World Design Capital. The Table Bay Hotel is a landmark hotel for the city and with its superb location on the waterfront is an ideal location to experience all of Cape Town’s wonders (http://www.suninternational.com).
