CityJet Appoints New Director

CityJet has announced that its Head of Marketing and Communications, Martina McDermott Hurley, has been appointed to the airline’s Executive Management Board.

Pay Byrne, CityJet Executive Chairman, said that McDermott Hurley would bring a wealth of expertise and strategic communications skills to the board: “Martina has demonstrated her considerable expertise in communications and innovative marketing and her skillset and energy will be of enormous value to the executive team in the framing and execution of strategy for CityJet as we accelerate momentum on our journey at firmly establishing CityJet as a leading aviation business in Europe.”

The independent Irish airline operates 11 routes in Europe and recently announced it is to commence services from Cork to London City Airport in October.

Martina joined the airline as Head of Global Marketing and Communications last November. She previously worked as Head of Strategy and Planning at Bank of Ireland and also held senior management positions in Eircom and Publicis D Healthcare.

She said: “CityJet has undergone significant changes in the past 12 months and it has been wonderful to be part of the team that is delivering a new flying experience for our customers. As we continue to expand and develop new markets, it is both challenging and rewarding to work so closely with talented people at all levels across the airline.”
