Consort Group to Join Advantage

Members of Northern Ireland independent travel agent consortium Consort will be joining Advantage Travel Centres on 1st February 2012. Consort members have voted unanimously to bring all 29 branches into Advantage membership.

Terry Murphy, Chairman of Consort, said: “In these challenging times we are keen to share the strong commercial agreements membership of Advantage will give us, but in addition, marketing materials, consultancy services and other benefits will also prove extremely valuable to us. We wanted to retain our independence and were attracted by the high level of engagement Advantage has with its members, which helped lead us to make this decision.”

John McEwan, Chief Executive of Advantage Travel Centres, said: “Consort coming on board fits well with the existing members we already have in Northern Ireland and places us very clearly as the largest independent travel group in the province as well as further consolidating Advantage’s position as the largest independent travel consortium in the UK.

“Consort wishes to play an active role in Advantage and they will have full access to everything we have to offer. This includes us extending our already successful member meetings and dinners to take place in Northern Ireland. We welcome Consort to the only consortium that is owned by its members and is therefore completely member focussed.”
