Dubai Developer to Build Taj Mahal Replica

A €770 million project to build a replica of India’s iconic Taj Mahal has been revived by Dubai developer Link Global Group. The plan was postponed earlier due to the global economic downturn. Chairman Arun Mehra said that the Taj Arabia complex will be much bigger than the original and will include a 300-room hotel, shops and commercial buildings. It would be ready by 2014 and be known as the ‘New City of Love’, he added. Taj Mahal

The complex will also house other structures such as replicas of the Eiffel Tower, Pyramids and the Great Wall of China. The developer hopes that the Taj Arabia will become a new wedding destination.
