Emirates seeks Irish Cabin Crew

Emirates, is hosting four recruitment open days in Ireland to help fill its requirement for 4000 cabin crew, this financial year.  The recruitment open days are being held in advance of the launch of Emirates‘ daily passenger service from Dublin – Dubai, in January 2012.

Emirates already employs 232 Irish nationals, 139 of whom are cabin crew, based in the airline’s home of Dubai.

The cabin crew open days will take place in Dublin on 27th October at the Central Hotel on Exchequer Street; Galway on 30th October at the Harbour Hotel on New Dock Road; Limerick on 2nd November at the Limerick Strand Hotel and Cork’s open day will take place on 5th November, at the Gresham Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street.  All events commence at 9am.

Laurie Berryman, VP for UK and Ireland said, “We are looking to recruit 4,000 cabin crew and our policy has always been to recruit staff from countries where there is a strong hospitality tradition. We already employ a number of pilots and cabin crew from Ireland and hope that we can add significantly to these numbers,” said Mr Berryman.

Applicants for cabin positions have to be at least 21 years old at the time of possible recruitment and are requested to bring an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) in addition to a full length and head and shoulders photograph.   Candidates need to have a minimum arm reach of 212 cms to reach and fluency in written and spoken English and previous experience in the service or hospitality industries will prove advantageous.

The recruitment days offer interested applicants the opportunity to explore a unique career opportunity and learn about living in cosmopolitan Dubai. A thriving metropolis, Dubai offers an exceptional lifestyle and a vast range of leisure and cultural attractions, in addition to the sunny weather all year long.  At the open days, men and women will be able to speak to the Emirates recruitment team and gain an insight into the company and working on board one of the most modern fleets in the skies.

Emirates will begin daily flights to Dublin on 9th January 2012, marking its first route to the Republic of Ireland.  Dublin will be Emirates’ 29th point in Europe and customers will be able to fly non-stop to Dubai, with the option of making convenient onward connections to a vast route network.
