Etihad Partners with MTT to Launch Mobile App for iPhone

Etihad Airways has partnered with MTT, a Travelport company and leading provider of digital solutions to the airline industry, to launch a mobile application for the iPhone that enables guests to organise and manage their journey with even greater ease.

Etihad Airways guests will receive 10% off flights, and members of the airline’s loyalty programme Etihad Guest will receive 250 bonus miles for every booking made through the mobile app before 30th May 2016.

The Etihad Airways mobile app is simple and enjoyable to use, providing comprehensive trip management capabilities by leveraging the latest innovations in mobile technology. Guests can pay for their tickets by scanning their credit card and can also check in for their flight by using their mobile phone to simply scan their passport page. Boarding passes can be viewed from the app or downloaded directly to iOS Wallet.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Etihad Airways is dedicated to delivering excellence in every single guest interaction, be it face to face or on digital channels. We strive to provide innovative solutions that ensure our guests enjoy a seamless world-class service. We are confident that our guests will be delighted with the speed of the app, its ease of use and its considerable functionality.”

The airline has selected MTT as a partner for the Etihad Airways mobile application development. The app enables guests to navigate their way around Abu Dhabi International Airport using indoor maps – a first in the Middle East. It also incorporates high-resolution enhanced seat maps, giving passengers a detailed layout of the cabin and their chosen seat.

David Moran, MTT’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to launch the new Etihad Airways app delivering mobile services that are a key component of the airline’s commitment to excellence in technology, innovation and delivery of personalised guest experiences. Etihad Airways is a global leader in the airline industry and we are delighted to translate their reputation for world-class customer service and innovation into a modern, sophisticated, traveller-centric app. We look forward to our ongoing collaboration in bringing further advances in digital travel to Etihad Airways and its valued customers.”

Robert Webb, Etihad Aviation Group’s Chief Information and Technology Officer, said: “The mobile app marks a great step forward as we continue innovating new technology solutions to create more personalised and tailored digital services and products that benefit our guests. This is just the beginning as we continue adding new features that will further empower our guests with greater control and flexibility over the entire booking and travel experience, including how they choose to interact with our airline.”

The new Etihad Airways iPhone app is available now to download via the App Store.
