Free Southend Airport to London Rail with Aer Arann

Aer Arann Regional has teamed up with London Southend Airport to offer passengers travelling from Waterford Airport to London Southend free train tickets to central London from 1st December 2011 to 4th February 2012, excluding 19th December to 2nd January. Passengers showing boarding cards at the airport railway station receive a complimentary one-way train ticket to Liverpool Street station or Stratford stations in London – saving up to £14.30.

Aer Arann’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Andrew Kelly, said: “With this special offer we are encouraging people in the South-East of Ireland to choose Aer Arann Regional’s Waterford – London Southend service as their low-cost, easy route to central London. By combining our low fares with a complimentary train ticket, passengers who fly with Aer Arann Regional can get to central London for a fraction of the price they would normally pay while benefiting from the hassle-free convenience that only regional airports like Waterford and London Southend can provide.”

Managing Director of London Southend Airport Alastair Welch added: “The team at London Southend Airport is committed to making the travel experience easier. We aim to deliver our customers from plane to train in just 15 minutes. Up to eight trains an hour travel into London from the Southend Airport railway station. The journey into Stratford takes only 44 minutes while the trip into London Liverpool Street station takes 53 minutes. We are especially pleased to provide Aer Arann Regional passengers travelling to London over the Christmas season with exceptional value for money with this special railway promotion.”

Chief Executive of Waterford Airport, Graham Doyle, said: “This is a really great offer for people travelling from Waterford Airport to London over the Christmas season. Passengers benefit not only from convenient Aer Arann Regional flights but now also complimentary train transfers to either Stratford Station, which gives access to Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest indoor shopping centre and the Olympic Park, or to London Liverpool Street station, which brings you right into the heart of central London.”
