Ginka Kostova was commissioned by the GNTO, as part of her Master of Science Degree in Tourism Marketing at University of Surrey, to undertake a critical evaluation of the BarrierFree campaign and website that was launched by the GNTO in 2012.

The BarrierFree website was evaluated very highly by the participants in the study, who rated it welcoming, positive, accessible and reliable. Ginka’s recommendations include a focus on digital marketing to improve awareness of the website, more information about accessible accommodation in Germany and in a separate section, the provision of options for feedback and testimonials, and the development of independent Facebook and Twitter accounts for the BarrierFree campaign.
