Gorilla Photography Treks with David Lloyd

Much sought-after for his Masai Mara photographic safaris, wildlife photographer David Lloyd has announced dates for his first photographic trips away from Kenya – to visit gorillas in Rwanda and Uganda – this autumn. David Lloyd

With a focus on making the trips as cost-effective as possible, Lloyd has put together two itineraries – from US$2,600 with just one trek – that can be combined for up to five treks across two countries (Rwanda and Uganda) at a cost of US$7,650. The first trip is from 16th-21st November 2014 and the second from 22nd-29th November 2014.

Since one of his photos was chosen as the cover for the ‘Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ book in 2011, New Zealand-born Lloyd has been making waves in the wildlife photography world. His images are frequently used in magazines, he’s had a London exhibition, and he has also been announced as a speaker at the prestigious Wild Photos event this autumn. Last year he spent eight weeks leading sell-out safari groups in Kenya and he is already booked up until February 2015 leading similar trips.

The gorilla trips are, however, for him fulfilling a dream. “Ever since I first visited in 2008 I knew I wanted to go back and take people, to see what I’ve seen, in as cost-effective way as possible. That’s why I’ve chosen the green season – yes, there will be some rain making trekking harder but the resulting colours and vibrancy will make photography so much more rewarding.”

The trips include photographic mentoring and image processing tuition and with a group size of a maximum of eight, plenty of one-on-one time with the photographer himself. For more information and to book go to http://davidlloyd.net/tours/pure-gorilla .
