An Ideal Destination for Golfers

With five magnificent courses (a total of seven links), seven pitch & putts, and an almost permanent sunny climate with mild temperatures, the Costa Daurada is an ideal destination for golfing holidays. Story 5

The excellent facilities are perfect for beginners and professionals alike. Good transport links, a wide range of quality hotels and restaurants, and a rich historical and cultural heritage have all helped put the Costa Daurada on the world golfing map. There can be no better proof of this than the fact that the prestigious International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) chose the Costa Daurada as its venue for 2013.

The courses of this emerging golf destination are all on the Mediterranean coast, just a few kilometres from the sea, making its holes, bunkers and doglegs even more attractive. Each course has its own special characteristics, offering your clients a wide variety of golfing experiences during their stay on the Costa Daurada.

In La Pineda, Lumine Golf Club, next to PortAventura theme park, offers three unique golf courses on a total of 170 hectares. It boasts the 45 most modern holes in Spain, 27 of them designed by Greg Norman, a winner of two majors. Lumine Lakes is the most technically difficult of Norman’s designs and requires a certain level of precision and strategy; Lumine Ruins includes archaeological remains in its fairways and the third course in the complex is Lumine Hills. There are also two clubhouses, a golf school and a beach club.

In Mont-roig we find what is considered to be one of the best golf courses in Spain, Bonmont Golf Club, designed by the world-famous expert, Robert Trent Jones Jr. Its 18-hole, par-72 course is set in peaceful natural surroundings, belying the numerous challenges that will delight the committed golfer.

Not far from the town of Reus, famous for its Modernist architecture, the Reus Aigüesverds Golf Club links has few undulations, making it ideal for walking its 18-hole, par-71 course. The various lakes, the bunkers and the narrowness of some of its fairways offer challenges for players of all levels.

Costa Daurada Golf

The Golf Costa Dorada is in El Catllar, not far from the city of Tarragona, whose Roman monuments have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 18-hole, par-72 links can be enjoyed by everyone, from beginners to the most demanding players, as it combines technically difficult holes with water, doglegs, large bunkers and links-style holes.

Finally, to the north of the Costa Daurada, in Calafell, La Graiera Golf Club is set in a completely natural wooded area of rolling hills. This 18-hole, par-72 course also has three lakes and is frequented by the local fauna.
