London City Airport has once again recorded the best on-time performance for any of the 10 airports monitored in the UK, for scheduled flights. Achieving an on-time rate of 86% during the period January to March 2013 and the shortest average delay of just 8.22 minutes, this compares with an average on-time performance across all 10 airports of 77.71% and an average delay of 13.13 minutes.
Darren Grover, Chief Operating Officer at LCY said: “The hard work of the LCY team continues to set us above other UK airports, providing the most punctual flights for our passengers. London City Airport prides itself on the convenience it offers to passengers, from the ease of access from central London, to the short time it takes to get through departures and arrivals. The reliability of our service demonstrates that we are consistently delivering on that promise.”
The last week of June saw the busiest week on record at London City Airport, with 80,315 passengers travelling through. This beat the previous record set just a few weeks earlier in May. The load factor has been consistently strong and continued to improve throughout the first half of 2013, with traffic between Dublin and London City contributing significantly to the recorded figures.
