Lowcostbeds has launched a new website for US travel agencies, Lowcostbeds.us, and has opened a new office in Atlanta, Georgia. Clem Walshe has been appointed Managing Director Ireland & North America with responsibility for promoting the Lowcostbeds product to the American trade.
US travel agencies are already registering to do business with the accommodation portal that gives them access to Lowcostbeds’ 250,000 hotels and worldwide airport transfers. The company’s new business model offers a comprehensive selection of exclusive hotel deals in destinations right across the globe, including the USA, Caribbean, Asia and a large variety of European beaches and cities.
Clem said: “It’s a really exciting prospect, this is a huge market with massive potential and, while challenging, I have no doubt that our product will prove to be every bit as successful in the USA as it has been in other European markets.”
Alex Gisbert, Managing Director International, added: “We are delighted with the launch of Lowcostbeds in the United States. We didn’t plan to launch until December but decided to move things forward due to the high level of interest from the US trade. Thanks to our unique offer, agencies now have the ability to create the perfect low cost trip for their customers.
“We have also set up a 24/7 US call centre with English and Spanish speakers who are all trained travel professionals and will provide round the clock trade support for US travel agents.”
Lowcostbeds now has over 15,000 travel agencies registered in Europe and has seen triple digit growth in the European market over the past 12 months.
Lowcostbeds.us is owned by the Low Cost Travel Group. The group was founded in the UK in 2004 to provide travel agencies with low cost hotels and transfers. It now offers agents access to over 250,000 hotels worldwide through directly negotiated contracts. Agents can also avail of Lowcost’s XML integration, providing them with access to a selection of leading global accommodation supplier platforms.
