Lowcostbeds is to offer daily deals for travel agents to capture more of the ‘impulse buy’ market. Meanwhile an Irish fam trip to Port Aventura will follow the recent fam to the Algarve. In the UK, Michelle Brackstone has been promoted to Head of Late Sales, in order to drive new daily deals that the company plans to promote and sell through the trade. Paul Riches, Group Director of Sales, said: “The market has changed considerably and many sales are now made as an ‘impulse buy’, driven through the emergence of even more ‘deal-led’ websites. We have not been quick enough to react to this in the past few months, but Michelle’s new appointment will improve our ability to work with trade partners on daily deals.”
The company has also strengthened its long-haul buying team and has announced new programmes to South America, Hawaii, Kenya, Gambia, Maldives and Mauritius.
Irish Fam Trips
Meanwhile, Clem Walshe and Grainne Caffrey recently hosted 12 Irish agents from all over Ireland for a five-day all-inclusive 5-star trip to the Algarve, with flights provided by Aer Lingus, to show off the Lowcostbeds product across a range of key resorts in the region.
Grainne said: “We had great fun and overall feedback was very positive from the group, who were very impressed with the wide range of hugely competitive properties we have available in the Algarve. True to form, it was not all work, as we managed to fit in a little play as well!”
Lowcostbeds will be hosting another agents fam trip from 22nd – 25th October to Port Aventura in association with the Spanish Tourism Office. All agents had to do was to email a Lowcostbeds booking reference to Grainne to be entered in the draw for a seat on another exciting trip with the company.
