The Embassy of Mexico and the Mexico Tourism Board are organising a ‘Meet Mexico’ event in June that will be of great interest to agents. The event will be held at the Embassy of Mexico at Raglan Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, on Wednesday 19th June 2013, commencing at 4.00pm.
The occasion will be an opportunity for the travel trade to meet with suppliers from Mexico and gain first-hand information about ground arrangements, flights, resorts, weddings, activity holidays and conferences. They will discover and experience the rich cultural heritage of the various regions of Mexico – from the adventure routes of the ancient Maya, to the contemporary culture of Mexico City, spectacular beaches and wine country.
The Ambassador of Mexico to Ireland, His Excellency Carlos Garcia de Alba, said: “Developing tourism from Ireland is important to us. Mexico is rich in culture and heritage and diverse in climate and landscape, making it the ideal tourism destination for any type of holiday. Our goal at this event is for the travel trade to meet suppliers, who will assist them to discover the essence of Mexico; exploring all the country has to offer regionally from a tourism point of view.”
It’s not going to be all business! The Mexico Tourism Board and the Embassy have arranged authentic Mexican food and margaritas to be served on the night. “We are very social people, just like the Irish,” said Lupita Ayala, Deputy Director of the Mexico Tourism Board in London. “There will be time for business, and informal networking.”
Suppliers participating in the event are the Embassy of Mexico in Ireland, Mexico Tourism Board, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Barceló Hotels& Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Occidental Hotels & Resorts, Velas Resorts Mexico, Cancun Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Aeromexico, and Viajes Meca (ground handler).
