Minor Opens Anantara Dubai The Palm

The new 293-room Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa welcomed its first guests on Sunday 15th September, bringing the number of Anantara resorts in the UAE to five. The resort offers a selection of accommodation options including one- and two-bedroom beach pool villas, each with a personal infinity pool looking out over the lagoon or The Palm, plus the Middle East’s first over water villas.

Designed in Thai style, the new resort has tuk-tuks to transport guests around the resort and floating market-style boats gliding across the lagoon pools serving cocktails, while the resort lobby features a Dubai heritage corner showcasing indigenous artifacts.

There are four existing Anantara properties in Abu Dhabi and a further two will be added to the portfolio in the region by early 2014, including the first property in Qatar.

Dillip Rajakarier, Chief Executive of Minor Hotel Group, said: “We are very excited to open our first Anantara in Dubai, a key strategic location for the brand. This is the fourth addition to Anantara’s portfolio so far this year, with a further three properties to be added before the end of the year, including in two new countries, Cambodia and Mozambique. We are especially excited about our continued expansion in the Middle East region, which is a key area of focus both for Anantara and other brands within Minor Hotel Group.”

Lazy days can be enjoyed on Anantara’s 400-metre-long private beach, as well as at three winding lagoon pools and a 50-metre shoreline infinity pool that looks out across the Palm. A variety of water sports include kayaking, wake boarding and paddle boarding, as well as diving and snorkelling adventures. Two gyms and two tennis courts extend the choice of energising leisure pursuits. A teens club, Chill and Tuk Tuk Kids Club keep younger guests entertained and there are six restaurants and bars serving a diversity of cuisines.
