More Irish Travel to Spain, a Top Golf Destination

Irish travel to Spain is increasing with direct flight passenger figures from Ireland to Spain in the first five months of the year (January to May) up by 12.7% (nearly half a million passengers) over the same period in 2014.

Spain is a top golf destination too. The country takes the biggest share among European golf enthusiasts, attracting 28.5% of visitors. According to the Royal Spanish Federation of Golf, nine Spanish golf clubs feature in the top 20 list of the best European clubs, eight of which are on the islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Majorca).

The quality of the facilities and weather conditions are undoubtedly some of the reasons why European golfers choose Spain, which has over 500 courses – in major cities, in mountain areas and right on the coast – with competitive prices and offering very different features.
