New California MOXI Family Museum to Open February 2017

Opening in February 2017, MOXI (The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation) is a major new museum, located near the Santa Barbara train station and lower State Street, that will feature three stories of cool, interactive exhibits around science, technology and creativity, somewhat similar to the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Exhibits include a giant strummable guitar where children can learn about how sounds get transmitted and a recording studio that features clips from Fox films, where children can create their own soundtracks.

The project draws on the creative, technical and engineering brain trust of the Santa Barbara community, with special collaborations including a guest exhibit from UC Santa Barbara’s Allosphere project and an interactive design challenge developed by SONOS (founded in Santa Barbara): www.moxi.org
