On Tuesday, Irish Travel Trade News visited a 5-star hotel in Prague with a difference – it only has one room, offers panoramic views of the city, and is available for €1,000 per night (for a maximum of two adults and two children).
Prague’s One-room Hotel is available for €1,000 per night
Last year the Žižkov Television Tower in Prague, built in 1992, underwent reconstruction and one of the cabins in the tower was transformed into a one-room hotel located 66 metres above ground. In February this year the furnishings were upgraded and include a luxurious mini bar and top-end digital audio-visual equipment including a Bose television and a Tilevision set integrated into the bathroom mirror.
The room can also be hired as a meeting or dining room
Now called the Tower Park Praha (www.towerpark.cz), the Tower also includes a bistro and the Restaurant Oblaca on the floor below the hotel room and, above at 93 metres high, an observation floor. The latter includes three cabins giving panoramic views of the city (with telescopes), one of which also shows videos provided by Czech Tourism, another has two interactive computer screens giving detailed information on tourism attractions, and the third has eight ‘bubble’ chairs in which visitors can listen to sounds of the city.
The bathroom mirror has an integrated television screen
The one-room hotel can quickly be converted into a meeting room or private dining room if required. For reservations, visit www.oneroomhotel.cz.
