Silversea Cruises Selects Amadeus

Amadeus has signed a new distribution agreement with Silversea Cruises to provide automated booking capability for traditional and online travel agents in Ireland and the UK. Silversea is also extending a special bonus commission offer from launch through to 12th October 2011 for Amadeus Cruise users.

The decision to expand Silversea’s sales channels to the Amadeus global distribution system involved selecting an IT partner that could provide Silversea Cruises with guaranteed system reliability, optimal merchandising opportunities and dynamic reservation capabilities. With the addition of Silversea, Amadeus offers distribution and reservation solutions for 18 cruise lines in Ireland and the UK.

Amadeus Cruise Distribution Solutions include Amadeus Cruise, the desktop application of the travel agency Amadeus Selling Platform, which is also available as a stand-alone solution (regardless of whether or not agents use a global distribution system), and Amadeus Cruise API/Web Services for online travel resellers.  Silversea will be distributed through Amadeus Cruise for travel professionals and the Amadeus Cruise API/Web Services for online sales.

“Amadeus Cruise Distribution Solutions gives us unprecedented access to the UK and Irish travel agency audiences, as well as online travel resellers, instantly expanding our distribution scope,” said Steve Odell, Silversea’s Senior Vice President for UK, Europe & AsiaPacific. “Real-time loading of all our sailings, tariffs and onboard amenities, as well as instant booking confirmation thanks to a seamless connection to our in-house reservation system, means we can offer Amadeus subscribers a superior, automated shopping experience.”

Volker Lorenz, General Manager, Amadeus Ireland said: “Silversea is a fantastic addition to Amadeus Cruise. This new content provides the many cruise specialists, travel agents and online travel resellers using Amadeus with even greater choice in the luxury cruise category to service their important high-end customers. With its undisputed reputation for luxury and service excellence, and by distributing through Amadeus Cruise, Silversea is now more accessible to the Irish travel industry community than ever before.”

Silversea is also extending a special bonus commission offer from launch through to 12th October 2011 for Amadeus Cruise users. Irish travel agents who make new Silversea bookings via Amadeus Cruise can earn €70 per suite bonus commission. The offer is valid on new bookings made on Amadeus during the promotional period and on all suite categories, all departures and voyages.
