Sixt Appoints County Car Rentals

Germany’s largest car rental company, Sixt, has appointed Dun Laoghaire-based County Car Rentals as its Irish partner and will now operate under the Sixt brand. Founded in 1952, County Car rentals is owned and managed by the Loughran family and has grown to become one of the leading independent car rental companies in Ireland.

At the launch were An Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore TD; Bernard Loughran, Sixt Rent a Car; and Neil Lane, General Manager, Radisson Blu St Helen’s Hotel

As a result of the partnership Sixt Rent a Car has created 11 new jobs at its head office and plans to recruit an additional 12 staff over the next eight months.

Bernard Loughran, Managing Director, Sixt Rent a Car-Ireland, said: “County Car Rentals is delighted to partner with Sixt Rent a Car in Ireland as part of our strategy to expand and grow our business, from strong economic regions including Germany and Austria.
