Solo Traveller Savings with 1STS Brands

Solo Traveller Savings with 1STS Brands

One Stop Touring Shop, which consists of Insight Vacations, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises and Contiki Holidays, is offering significant savings for solo travellers.

Contiki Solo

Over 50% of Contiki Holidays’ clients ‘go it alone’

Insight Vacations

Insight Vacations, Premium Escorted Touring has introduced a singles-friendly symbol ‘ST’ that is applied on a number of tour dates on selected tours and which helps identify travel dates that might suit solo travellers.

If travellers are travelling alone on a specific Insight tour, Insight can match the traveller with someone of the same gender, so they don’t have to pay the single room supplement. If Insight fails to match the traveller, it will provide a single room at no extra cost.

Not only does this guarantee those travelling by themselves will not be hit with single room supplements, it also means they are more likely to meet like-minded people as potential travelling companions.

Insight Vacations offers premium escorted tours to Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean, Canada, United States, Mexico, India and Nepal. The 2012 collection includes new destinations such as Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and the Crimea, the Channel Islands and Hawaii.

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises

Uniworld is also taking the sting out of travelling solo by cancelling its single supplement charge on many of its 2012 Europe rivercruise departures. The ‘no single supplement’ savings offer includes more than 17 cruise itineraries in 2012, including the Enchanting Danube and Tulips & Windmills on selected departures.

Uniworld’s boutique ships have an average capacity of 130 guests and include shore excursions, award-winning world-class gourmet cuisine, and award-winning hospitality on over 500 river cruise departures on 13 rivers in 20 countries throughout Europe, Russia, Egypt, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

Contiki Holidays

More than half of Contiki’s travellers go it alone, which means travellers are guaranteed to link up with young (18-35 year olds), adventurous tour mates. Contiki will match travellers up with a same-sex roommate, or travellers can opt for their own room for a little extra on certain tours.

In a poll conducted on the Contiki forums, almost 70% of people polled as travelling on tour alone. So even though travellers start the tour alone, they are not the only one travelling alone.

Contiki Holidays is a worldwide leader in tours for 18-35s, offering a mix of sightseeing and culture in over 40 countries, across six continents.
