Swissport Creates 200 Jobs at Dublin Airport

Over the course of 2015, Swissport’s groundhandling business at Dublin Airport saw growth of 23% and is expected to grow by a further 10% in 2016 – so the company is recruiting staff for over 200 new positions in the areas of customer service agents, ramp handling agents, flight operations, security and aircraft appearance operatives.

Wayne Gough, Swissport Station Manager, said: “We invite those interested in a career with Swissport to apply online at www.swissport.com/careers. The world of aviation is a fast moving industry with great people and great career potential.”

Vincent Harrison, Dublin Airport’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to see Swissport’s business go from strength to strength at Dublin Airport. The recruitment of a further 200 jobs, on top of the 350 recently announced by Dublin Airport, further endorses the economic impact of the airport.

“Dublin Airport has had a strong start to 2016 with 17% growth in January alone. This trend is set to continue with 13 new routes/services due to start in the coming weeks.”

Swissport has been operating at Dublin Airport since its takeover of Servisair in 2013, which operated at Dublin Airport since 1995. Today, Swissport provides groundhandling services to 46 airlines employing over 570 staff. In 2015, the aviation groundhandler provided services for four million passengers on 20 long-haul and 34 short-haul routes.

In 2016, Swissport will also handle ground flight operations for Dublin Airport’s first direct service to Vancouver, which will be provided by Air Canada rouge, as well as two new summer charter flights to Montego Bay in Jamaica, and Cancun in Mexico by Thomson/Falcon.

Dublin Airport has direct flights to 170 destinations in 38 countries on four continents.
