The Irish Whiskey Collection in Cork Airport

Shopping at The Loop at Cork Airport is now a must for anyone looking for the best range and value in Irish whiskey with the official opening of The Irish Whiskey Collection. The spectacular collection, which features over 78 different whiskeys, was officially launched on Monday 3rd December by renowned Cork-based Master Distiller Barry Crockett and Paul Neeson, Director of Retail ARI.

Paul Neeson said: “Not only is Barry Crockett one of the most prominent names in Irish whiskey production, he is also a Cork native, so we are honoured that he is here today to officially open the collection. The Irish Whiskey Collection has rapidly become one of the most recognisable and popular stores in The Loop shopping experience and really appeals to Irish and overseas passengers. It has proved enormously successful in Dublin Airport over the past two years and we are delighted to replicate the experience for our customers in Cork Airport, especially given the tradition and history of whiskey distilling in the Cork area.”

Master Distiller Barry Crocket said: “I would like to compliment Cork Airport for developing such a wonderful showcase for Irish whiskey. The Irish Whiskey Collection is a fitting space to introduce discerning travellers to our award-winning Midleton whiskey brands, including The Jameson Reserve Range and Irish Single Pot Still editions. The Irish Whiskey Collection is an important addition to Cork Airport given the continued success of the Irish whiskey category, and indeed the Jameson brand that recently achieved sales of 4 million cases globally.”

The Irish Whiskey Collection features 78 different types of Irish whiskeys ranging from premium brands such as Midleton, Jameson, Paddy, Tullamore Dew and Powers to more niche offers such as Danny Boy and Inishturkbeg. It also carries the Middleton ‘Barry Crockett Legacy’ and is the exclusive stockist for the Midleton Single Cask IWC 70cl. These type of signature whiskies really appeal to passengers’ desire for a drink that is not only Irish but also unique and collectable.

Customers of the Irish Whiskey Collection do not even have to take their purchases on board – they can avail of the free Shop and Collect service when travelling within the EU. They simply buy their whiskey, or indeed whiskeys, of choice on departure and collect their purchases on arrival back into Cork Airport (
