The Power of People and Technology at Travel Counsellors

The Power of People and Technology at Travel Counsellors

“At Travel Counsellors our focus is on putting our people, including our Travel Counsellors, head office staff, and customers, at the heart of everything we do and developing the technology to enable everyone to provide the highest levels of service and care, wherever they are working,” says Cathy Burke, Director of International Business Development.

“The technology we have developed doesn’t replace people, it empowers them. We have used it to create our own internal community through webcasts, message boards, our own database of travel reviews, and a content-driven search and booking system.”

The range of products and support that is available to a Travel Counsellor is outstanding, from the early start-up stage right through to the daily running of their businesses. The ‘pièce de résistance’ of this is the company’s in-house dynamic packaging system, Phenix.

As well as being super user friendly and easy to navigate, the Phenix system allows the user to pull together flights, accommodation, car hire and attractions in one simple and professional quote. Travel Counsellors can choose from a variety of airfares including published and low-cost along with Travel Counsellors’ own Irish ‘consol and IT’ fares. A key benefit of having access to this level of efficient technology is the time saving and it is really simple and easy to use.

“A prime example is our 24/7 global duty office service that ensures that our teams are connected around the clock and are always available for Travel Counsellors and their customers,” adds Cathy. “In the event that something does go wrong, you have a team of specialists and colleagues willing to help and resolve anything 24/7. Where else on the planet do you get that level of support and absolute genuine desire to help?”
