Travelport Launches CTS Mobile App, Signs Agreement with TIX

Travelport has launched the CTS Mobile app and has announced a new multi-year international travel content and technology agreement with  TIX, a leading online travel agent in The Netherlands.

CTS Mobile App

Travelport has also announced the development of a mobile app for CTS Viaggi, the Italian member of the WYSET (World Youth Student and Educational Travel) Confederation. The app, called CTS Mobile, is available for users of Apple and Android products and is available immediately from Google Play and the Apple App Store.

CTS Mobile lets travellers search for flights and hotels using maps or current location, and allows the user to filter results by price or proximity. Once the preferred flight or hotel has been identified, travellers can quickly and easily complete the purchase in three easy steps using a credit card.

The development of CTS Mobile is part of a wider programme of technological partnership between Travelport and CTS Viaggi, with the aim of offering their youth travel services across all the latest platforms and devices.

Damiano Sabatino, Travelport’s General Manager for Southern Europe, said: “We hear almost daily how important smartphones are and their impact on everyday life in Italy and we also know how important this channel is for travel. At Travelport we are delighted to be bringing innovative mobile solutions to our customers and the travelling public.”

TIX Agreement

TIX is a relatively new OTA, operating since June 2010, but has grown rapidly and is on target to reach a €100 million turnover in 2012.

“We have been experiencing strong growth and have chosen Travelport as the best partner to help us continue that growth and achieve our expansion plans in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Poland, France and UK,” said Bjorn de Jager, Chief Executive of TIX. “As part of our selection process we carried out a number of tests and found Travelport’s fare shopping, through their e-Pricing product, was second to none.”
