Tourism Convention Delegates Visit Derry

Delegates who visited the first UKinbound convention to be held in Northern Ireland, in Belfast, also took part in a post-convention tour of Derry’s city walls and the Tower Museum. The visit was organised by Tourism Ireland and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

Vanessa Markey of Tourism Ireland said: “The visitors had the opportunity to hear about the exciting programme in the pipeline for Derry as part of NI2012, including the Cultural Olympiad ‘Peace One Day’ concert in June at the newly created Ebrington site and the Clipper Maritime Festival in July. They also enjoyed a preview of the extensive plans for Derry UK City of Culture 2013.”
