Travel Counsellors Celebrate the Success of Top Performers

Roger Barrett left a busy, long-haul specialist agency in Dublin City in late 2013 and took the leap to open his own business. After just over two years, he is now one of the top performing Travel Counsellors in Ireland who earn in excess of €60,000 each year.

Becoming a top performer is something many Travel Counsellors strive to achieve and the company holds special events throughout the year to celebrate, including top performers’ dinners and weekend trips. Cathy Burke said: “It‘s a fantastic way to celebrate the successes of our Travel Counsellors who run their own businesses and the highly commended status of ‘Gold Travel Counsellor’ that recognises their hard work and dedication.”

This year the top Travel Counsellors can choose to celebrate either on a long weekend in Hong Kong or a river cruise from Budapest to Vienna.

To top off the conference for Roger, he was also presented with an award for the ‘Most Helpful Travel Counsellor’. He earned this award by receiving the highest number of nominations from his fellow Travel Counsellors, who agree that Roger is very knowledgeable, friendly and always on hand to help his colleagues.

Roger said: “Joining Travel Counsellors was a huge eye-opener for me. I couldn’t operate any other way now. With my wife working long hours in a corporate banking environment, I have got the freedom to drop off and collect my son from his crèche, without arriving into work to dozens of waiting calls and a manager telling me I needed to make up my hours. I love the fact that if I just want to clear the cobwebs I can head out on my bike into the mountains, without having to wait until 6pm when it’s dark, like in my last life. Making that move to becoming a Travel Counsellor has changed all our lives for the better.”
