Travel Counsellors Wins Growing Business of the Year Award

Travel Counsellors was named Growing Business of the Year at the 2016 Amazon Growing Business Awards. At the event were Suzanne Revell, Judging Panel; Hayley Swift, PR Executive, Travel Counsellors; Simon Shaw, Chief Financial Officer, Travel Counsellors; and Rob Beckett, stand-up comedian.

Scooping one of the biggest awards at the event in London, Travel Counsellors was recognised for its impressive growth in the category of ‘Larger Company’. The award acknowledges continued global growth (of which Ireland’s contribution plays a big part), market leadership, industry-leading standards of service, and innovation around the customer experience.

The company now has 1,600 Travel Counsellors operating across seven countries, including 65 franchisees in Ireland, offering industry expertise coupled with a work ethic that revolves around genuine care for the customer. It has experienced year-on-year growth, posting sales of over €500 million for its last financial year.

Cathy Burke, Director of International Business Development and General Manager at Travel Counsellors Ireland, said: “Winning the Growing Business of the Year is a fantastic achievement, and a testament to the dedication, hard-work and expertise of the Travel Counsellors’ team – those in the offices globally and the franchisees.”

Simon Shaw, Chief Finance Officer, who collected the award, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Travel Counsellors has been recognised for continued global expansion and commitment to our people. As a business we always put people first, doing the right thing by our customers to make their travel experience special and unique every time.

“It’s this approach to customer care, along with supportive technology such as the myTC app and in-house booking engine Phenix, that has enabled Travel Counsellors to grow at a rapid pace since it was founded 22 years ago.”
