Vietnam Increases Visa Fee to US$45.00

Vietnam has been increasing international visitor numbers, but the recent decision to increase the visa fee from US$25 to a whooping $45, making it the highest visa fee of any of the ASEAN countries, is bound to affect this. Phan Thiet, Vietnam

Vietnam received some six million international visitors from January to November 2012, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. However, visitor arrivals from traditional western markets such as Europe have remained flat.

The Government has announced a target of two million tourists by 2020 to the country’s largest island of Phu Quoc.
