Gill O’Sullivan Wins Trip to Abu Dhabi

An ecstatic Gill O’Sullivan of Joe Walsh Tours was last night’s winner of the prize draw for a trip to Abu Dhabi during the Volvo Ocean Race stopover (at the New Year), which includes two Coral Class tickets on Etihad Airways and three nights in the 5-star St Regis resort on Saadiyat Island.

Angela Bates of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) brought a delegation to the Westbury Hotel, Dublin, to promote the active 2011 sporting year in the Emirate and presented an overview of all that was coming down the tracks – including the Volvo Ocean Race, the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and Ferrari World.

Matt Selby of the ADTA gave a presentation on the developments for the 55,000 sq m Destination Village that is being built on the Abu Dhabi Corniche in time for the Volvo Ocean Race, including a video of the race route that ends in Galway.

Mia Lamming of Yas Marina Circuit was representing the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and all the motor products and attractions associated with the industry, including Ferrari World and the various opportunities – depending on skill! – to avail of at the Grand Prix circuit as an unusual driving experience for tourists.

Extolling the virtues of Etihad Airways’ ex-Ireland service, and the airline’s ground handling sister company, Hala Abu Dhabi, Karen Maloney was very positive about their future progress.
